GREEN WASTE DROP-OFF
We still have an agreement with North Cornwall Township, allowing South Lebanon
residents to utilize their drop-off facility.
Everyone using the facility will be charged a fee of either $20 for an
unlimited yearly permit or $2.00 per bag or container.
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!
ALL SOUTH LEBANON RESIDENTS
MUST
BE PRE-APPROVED BY PHYLLIS MCGANN TO USE THE FACILITY.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE PROPER DOCUMENTATION FROM PHYLLIS, YOU WILL BE
TURNED AWAY AT THE FACILITY.
Each time you visit the drop off facility, you will be required to show your ID
along with the documentation received from Phyllis.
After you are approved by Phyllis, you must stop at the North Cornwall
Township office, Monday through Friday
7:00am to 3:30pm
to establish an account.
The drop-off facility will be open Mon-Fri 7 am to 3:30 pm and
the first Saturday of each month from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
After the account is established,
only yearly permit holders will be able to
use the facility on the Saturday the facility is open.
Items that will be accepted at the facility include corrugated cardboard,
newspapers, magazine, phone books, junk mail, office paper and yard waste.
Yard waste includes twigs, tree branches up to 5 inches in diameter and 8
feet in length, garden plant material, green hedge trimmings, cut hedges with
woody stems, ornamental grass, a maximum of 3 bags of leaves per season and
plant/shrub roots free of dirt no larger than 5 inches in diameter and 8 feet in
length. They will
not
accept poisonous plants, regular
grass clippings, stumps, logs, nuts/fruit from trees or plants, dirt, garden
stakes, animal excrement or other foreign materials.
When you receive your approval from Phyllis, you will receive complete
information on rules/regulations and procedures.

The South Lebanon Township Highway Department currently consists of 4 full time
employees plus 2 part time snow plow drivers. During the
course of the year, the department is responsible for snow removal, road repair,
road paving, street sweeping, spring & fall cleanup, mowing along the side of
roads, road sign placement and repair, leaf pickup and maintaining sewage pump
stations. In their spare time, they do most of the maintenance on their
equipment, maintenance at the township building, and help with projects at South
Hills Park. Needless to say, these men are kept quite busy.
